(MY E-MAIL FOR SHARING YOUR IDEAS: stormie@preschoolbystormie.com)

From Stormie:
Inside Out Day: Children wear their clothing to camp inside-out.  Believe it or not, this activity has benefits other than fun.  Children can practice observation skills by comparing the differences between inside-out and right-side out: How does the fabric look?  Does it feel different on your body?  How can you tell when clothing is inside-out?  (Tags.)  For their comfort, help the children change their clothing to right-side out after a few laughs and the little grouptime discussion just mentioned.
Extension: Provide a box of clothing for children to turn inside-out and right-side out for comparisons.  Actually, this is also a good fine motor activity.

Backwards Day: Children wear their clothing to camp backwards.  You can take them through the same process as above.

Hat Day: Children wear a funny, unique, or special hat to camp/school.  For example, I'm a big Orlando Magic basketball fan so I simply wore my Orlando Magic cap (real original, huh?), but the kids got a kick out of seeing me in it.  We had a special show-n-tell session so each child could tell the others about his/her hat.  When sending a note home in advance about this special day, you can suggest these hat options, to name a few: sun visor, straw, cowboy, fishing, baseball cap, bonnet, toboggan.

Glasses Day: Children wear funny, unique, or special sunglasses to camp/school (or other type of eyewear).  Again, I went for my basketball team and wore goggles like those worn by one of my favorite players on the team.  The kids really had a great time laughing at my expense this time!  (I should explain that on this particular year, I had lots of little boys in my class who, believe it or not, were into basketball and our Orlando Magic.  Our community is just down the road from Orlando, Florida, so it's a big deal around here.)  Most of the children wore children's sunglasses having various cartoon characters on them, or they (with their parent's help) decorated a pair of plain sunglasses with collage materials.
