MINI-MUSIC APPRECIATION: Country

You can go to almost any store that carries music CD's and find a
large selection of country music. By the way, did you know there are several
categories? Here's just a few:
Contemporary Bluegrass Cowboy Honky-Tonk Western
>
What's Thanksgiving in the classroom without singing and dancing to the Bluegrass
tune of "Turkey In the Straw?"
>
The cowboy song "Home
on the Range" is perfect for singing during the theme of "Home/Family."
>
The sounds of a guitar (for the letter Gg) are often heard in
country music, as well as the fiddle (for the letter Ff).
>
How about introducing the flute musical instrument for the letter Ff?
> Play flute music during free choice playtime.
(Native American Flute music is especially beautiful.)
>
How about playing sounds of the harmonica or harp for the letter
Hh?
If your shape this month it the triangle, you could introduce the "triangle" musical instrument.
How
about introducing the children to the sound of Hip-Hop for the letter
Hh?
