ON-GOING CREATIVE DRAMA CORNER: Farm
Share your ideas too.  E-mail me at stormie@preschoolbystormie.com

You will find ideas for this creative drama corner in my "Animals" booklet, located in the "Stormie's Stuff for Teachers" section of my website.  I will share more ideas here if/when I can create new ones.

I am so grateful to Kimerly Gaines for kicking off this section of my website with this fabulous idea:
Down On the Farm: I bought a grass carpet (the cheapest grade) for the floor, then had the class paint big boxes to resemble the barn and silo.  In two large tubs (water table size), I placed grass seed in one and dirt in the other.  Props included fake veggies, plastic flowers, and gardening tools all from my local dollar store.  Dress up clothes included overalls, bandannas, boots, etc. but I still kept pots and pans and miscellaneous items in the kitchen to pretend to prepare and eat what we had grown.  I painted a "down on the farm" mural (from the children's favorite storybook) on large paper for a wall background.
