Simply print uppercase letters of the alphabet on large index cards and then add
simple drawings to some of them. As the year progresses and children begin
to recognize the letters, use the same quotes but hold up letter cards without
any of the added drawings.

Although this game is uppercase
letter recognition, remember to sound out the letters too
(phonics).
"This
letter looks like apples
hanging from a tree. What is it?"
"This
letter looks like a butterfly.
What is it?"
"This
letter looks like a cookie
with a bite taken out of it. What is it?"
(Sing
the song from Sesame Street)
"This
letter looks like my little pet dog.
What is it?"
