In-House Field Trip: Invite a player of the saxophone
or trumpet to school and have him/her introduce their instrument and play it for
the children. Later, play some jazz and see if the children can pick out the instrument
sounds.
Making a Multi-Cultural
Connection Through Music:
How about introducing
children to "Lullabies" for the letter Ll? Here is a CD
that can be played at group times, naptime, transition periods, or when calm/cool-down
time is needed. What's most wonderful about it is that it includes lullabies
from around the world: "Lullaby: A Collection;"
Various Artists of Children's Music; Music for Little People
