IEP CHECKLIST
 
*Assess child’s current level of functioning
 
*Evaluate child’s strengths, weaknesses and strongest modalities for learning
 
*Determine goals and objectives that are appropriate for the child’s age and ability level
 
*Make sure short-term objectives describe the expected behavior and the instructional conditions under which the objective is to be met
 
*Make sure goals and objectives are measurable by attaching clear evaluation criteria
 
*Inform parents of the contents of the IEP and the rationale for the goals you have chosen
 
*Incorporate IEP goals and objectives into the service you provide to the child
 
*Monitor mastery of goals and objectives and indicate date of mastery when achieved
