*I
need to tell my parents if I break a toy as it might become unsafe.
*I
need to tell my parents if I see sharp edges or broken places on my toys
*I
need to put my toys away and out of the reach of my baby brother or sister who
might put something in their mouths (name examples: buttons, beads, toys with
cords, etc).
*I need to
put my toys away so people won't step on them and slip and fall
*I
need to play with my toys in the way they are meant to be played with
*I
never plug in my electric toys. I always ask my parents to do it.
*I'm
very careful with toys that fly because they could hurt someone.
*I'm
very careful when I play with toys that make loud noises so they don't hurt someone's
ears.
Activities:
1. Can you find toys in our classroom that are ok for 4 yr olds to play with but not for babies.
2.
Name
toys in the classroom and have children list safe ways to play with them and unsafe
ways to play with them. One example is a "necklace." Unsafe ways would
be to twirl it around our fingers, bite on it, or wear it on the playground.
The safe way to play with it is to wear it around our necks when we're pretending
to be grown-ups.
