GRAPHIC CREDITS

Graphics used throughout my website came from below.  Some of the titles aren't linked because the websites have either changed addresses without informing me or they no longer exist.  Nevertheless, I want to give them due credit so I've left the titles.

TEXTUAL REFERENCES & CREDITS
I have stated in disclaimer boxes on this website that activities on my webpages and in my booklets come from memory, my rather large index card collection, and from notes/hand-outs I've kept over the years.  But, as someone who strongly believes in giving credit where credit is due, I have tried in earnest to locate the resources of as many of my activities as possible.  I've done this by contacting former co-workers who have given me ideas, and by looking through my old term papers, projects, and other items from school (way back when) that have resources listed, especially since I remember using many of those same resources when compiling ideas for my index card files.  I remember, as a student, being required to hand in a reference list with my set of cards, but I must have thrown it away after school --thinking I'd never need it--foolish!  So, this is an on-going process as I try to remember as far back as 1976 (actually, it's been fun looking back--I remember more than I thought I would).  The following list is in no way complete and I have no idea which activities came from which books.  This is simply my way of giving proper credit as best I can recall:
LORTON, MARY BARATTA: "WORKJOBS"  PHILIPPINES: ADDISON-WESLEY, 1972
CHILDCRAFT: "THE HOW AND WHY LIBRARY "  CHICAGO, ILL: FIELD ENTERPRISES, 1972

READ, KATHERINE: "THE NURSERY SCHOOL"  PHILADELPHIA, PA: W. B. SAUNDERS, 1960
SCHICKEDANZ, "TEACHING YOUNG CHILDREN"?
(Strange how certain things trigger memories: I remember my ECE supervisor in college loved this book.  That last name has stuck with me but I'm not sure of the spelling and book title after all these years.)

*Special Tribute:
I was so lucky growing up.  There were 8 children in my family -- I am second to the oldest (and the oldest girl).  As the first-born girl, I had the pleasure of becoming real buddies with my maternal grandmother!  She was a former teacher, in a one-room schoolhouse, believe it or not.  As such, she was a master at improvisation.  She always had something for us grandkids to do whether it was placing clothespins around the edge of a box, making paste from flour and water, sorting her quilt squares, or going to see and smell the flowers in her "magazine worthy" garden.  As I got older, I remember loving to hear tales from her teaching days.  She always used to tell me about how she "made do" with what she had available.  She taught me how to do the same, and she shared so many good adaptable ideas with me -- many of which are on this website and in my booklets.  I'm so thankful to have had her in my life.
